THE COALITION’S GOALS:

 

1. Shaping of the legal and institutional instruments and mechanisms for ensuring of true equality.

 

2. Securing public support to achieve true equality.

 

3. Development of the Coalition as a leader of the movement against discrimination.

 

 

OBJECTIVES AND AREAS OF THE COALITION’S ACTIVITIES ACCORDING TO ITS GOALS:

 

I. To shape legal and institutional instruments and mechanisms for ensuring of true equality

 

1.1. To advocate for the adoption of a quality framework anti-discrimination law.

 

1.2. To carry out an annual monitoring of the state of anti-discrimination legislation’s implementation in Ukraine (initiating a relevant project starting from 2013).

 

1.3. To discuss, as a party, the drafts of the state authorities’ reports, to prepare alternative reports to the relevant international monitoring bodies (UN, CoE, OSCE/ODIHR etc.) on a systemic basis.

 

1.4. To contribute to creation and development of a specialized institution for combating discrimination in Ukraine.

 

1.5. To develop and advocate for adoption of recommendations regarding anti-discrimination policy in Ukraine.

 

1.6. To work out the concept of a strategic judiciary in the context of combating discrimination in Ukraine.

 

 

II. Securing public support to achieve true equality

 

2.1. To conduct monitoring of public opinion regarding human rights and discrimination-related issues.

 

2.2. To provide information on the Coalition’s activity on a systemic basis:

 

a) to work out the concept of educational work on the Coalition’s areas of activity;

 

b) to introduce projects for educational work with media professionals, children (human rights elective classes in the school curriculum), youth, community leaders, local authorities, state authorities, police force.

 

2.3. To promote issues of tolerance and unacceptability of discrimination in media.

 

 

III. Development of the Coalition as a leader of the movement against discrimination

 

3.1. To register the Coalition.

 

3.2. To adopt the Statute and, if needed, specific internal procedures of the Coalition.

 

3.3. To design and approve the components of the Coalition’s brand.

 

3.4. To present the Coalition to the state bodies, foreign partner organizations, diplomatic missions, and to establish systemic cooperation with them, as well as with the international organizations (UN, OSCE, CoE etc.).

 

3.5. To involve new actors representing or advocating interests of the discriminated groups not yet represented in the framework of the Coalition (in particular, implementation of the relevant decisions according to the 6th protocol).

 

3.6. To ensure informational presence of the Coalition in social networks (optional).

 

3.7. To come up with the capacity-building development plan for the Coalition and its member organizations.
